because, incumbent teachers have enough experiences to make lesson.

In science section, we made 5groups.
and, 2teams did the demonstration lesson.
after that another 3teams just introduced their ideas and materials.

During the workshop, We could share plenty of ideas.
Sharing is very significant for us, teachers.

Iloilo SAMURAI6 Caravan Region level stage

Mayoong hapon ( it means good afternoon in local language in Visaya District)

Toshiyuki Taguchi in Bais City, Negros Oriental is in charge of this session.

This week was 2nd week of Iloilo caravan.

SAMURAI6 members fatigued more day by day.

One of them took diarrhea caused by BBQ.
However all of them carried out their responsibility.

The participants of this session were coordinator from entiring Region6

Scale was so big! amazing!!

We had great responsibility!!

The program of this session

1st day

Morning
BAGONG RULE Presentation
Art of Questioning (The presentation from faculties of West Visaya State University)

Afternoon
The demonstration of JOCVs
Discussion about the demonstration
Preparing the next day's demo lesson

2nd day

Morning
Demo lesson of the participants
Discussion about the demo lesson

Afternoon
The presentation of School Environment
-Why should we keep the school environment clean-

The presentation of School Management
-How will we supervise and the leader should have big leadership

Afternoon
SBTP
-The presentation about School Based Training Program-

The demo lesson of the participants so nice, because leaders of local district attended and they had a lot teaching experience. In addition their teaching idea is much better than pre service teachers in college of education. Their teaching material were also good for teaching science and math class.

The demo lesson could attract students. We can use their idea a lot.

I pointed some improvements and I introduce one of them.

Teachers in the Philippines introduce group work in the lesson many times.

However, the teachers leave students during the lesson in many case.
Only fast leaner study or act in the group and others feel boring.

In my opinion, teacher should go around groups and check their standing and performance. In addition they should give some advice depend on the result of the checking.

Teachers give all students equal chance to study. Not only to fast leaner but also to others.

However, we could study and share a lot of teaching idea in this session.

We provided CD that has data of this session and we hope that the participants conduct echo seminar - workshop in their district after their coming back their districts.

Student teachers are quite unskillful due to few experiences but they have no preoccupations that's why they were really eager to absorb everything from this seminar like Sponge Bob!!!
I was so brisk!!

I aspire to that they have cherished such a genuine and highly motivated minds eternally...

'Kyoushi wa Seitono Kagami (Teacher is the mirror of Students)'
(That is one of famous Japanese adages.)

I preached myself indeed that I must be a more fabulous mirror for not only me but also them.

Thank you very much for all cooperation.

All science teachers of elementary schools in Tanjay city attended this workshop-seminar. And they studied about BAGONG RULE. Some teachers said “I have already known “BAGONG RULE” Some teachers said”I understand that basic teaching skills are very important for us.” Both opinions are very valuable. I think each teacher have different points of improvement. And also I don’t think that we couldn’t tell them all of essence of BAGONG RULE. I think that teacher can improve lessons only in daily lessons. Let’s discuss and share each idea more on 2011-2012.

Anyway I already observed some science lessons in this school year in Tanjay City. Most of teachers said “I try to apply “BAGONG RULE” in my lessons”. I’m very happy. Please continue to apply in your daily lessons. Let’s continue to improve our science lessons for our children.

See you again on your classes.
